Starwood Preferred Planner Terms & Conditions

• The Starwood Preferred Planner® program ("Program") provides points ("Starpoints"®) in the Starwood Preferred Guest® program to meeting planners and travel agents ("Planners") who book meetings at participating Starwood hotels and resorts.
• Planner will be awarded Starpoints only for meetings booked, held and paid for in accordance with the contract.
• To qualify for Starpoints, Planner must be a member of the Program and the Starwood Preferred Guest program in good standing, and must be employed by the company hosting or the company that hosted or booked the meeting when the Starpoints are awarded.
• Starpoints are issued only to the Planner named in the contract for the meeting, unless the Planner leaves the employment of the company hosting or booking the meeting prior to the Starpoints being issued, in which case the contracting company may name a substitute Planner to receive the Starpoints. Starpoints may be allocated among a maximum of three eligible Planners.
• Planner must provide his/her Starwood Preferred Guest membership number in the contract or prior to the contracted meeting.
• Planner does not need to attend the meeting to receive Starpoints.
• PLANNER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR NOTIFYING HIS/HER EMPLOYER, PRINCIPAL AND/OR CLIENT OF ANY STARPOINTS AND OTHER INCENTIVES RECEIVED FROM STARWOOD, AND SHALL COMPLY WITH ANY GIFT AND INCENTIVE POLICIES THAT MAY APPLY. PLANNER AGREES TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS STARWOOD HOTELS & RESORTS WORLDWIDE, INC., ITS SUBSIDIARIES AND AFFILIATES FROM ANY LIABILITY, COSTS AND/OR DAMAGES RELATING TO CLAIMS OF ANY THIRD PARTY ARISING FROM A FAILURE TO DISCLOSE THE RECEIPT OF STARPOINTS OR ANY OTHER INCENTIVES. SUCH COSTS MAY INCLUDE THE CASH VALUE OF ANY INCENTIVES THAT ARE PAID DIRECTLY TO PLANNER'S EMPLOYER, PRINCIPAL AND/OR CLIENT IN RESPONSE TO A CLAIM HEREUNDER.
• A Maximum of TWENTY THOUSAND (20,000) Starpoints per meeting applies, excluding special promotions and incentives.
• There is no limit to the number of meetings per year or total Starpoints that can be earned per year. Excluding special promotions and incentives, one (1) Starpoint for every three ($3.00) U.S. dollars (or U.S. Dollar equivalent) is earned for eligible group business, up to 20,000 Starpoints per meeting, as follows:
  • All group room revenue
  • Meeting Room rental
  • Catering. It is not necessary to consume room nights in conjunction with catering to earn Starpoints
• Starpoints may be awarded based on all group rates, exclusive of tax, gratuities, and related charges.
• For room night credit, meeting must be contracted through the sales or catering department.
• Starpoints will not be awarded on complimentary or barter rooms and meetings or on the amount of Instant Meeting Awards used.
• Starwood reserves the right to modify, change or terminate any of the terms & conditions of the Program at any time, without notice.
• Void where prohibited by law.
• Use of Starpoints is subject to terms & conditions of the Starwood Preferred Guest program, which is subject to change at any time, without notice, and can be viewed at www.SPG.com.
