When it comes to food, sight is every bit as important as taste. So what happens when you put a blindfold on as you sit down for dinner? Sensory Dining will give you the answer.
Guests have no prior knowledge of the dishes being served and are challenged to distinguish and identify the flavours of the food without removing their blindfolds. Clues are given by your guide for the evening while a selection of carefully chosen drinks will be available to complement each course.
For 2010, The Westin Dublin is presenting a Sensory Dining event each quarter, using combinations of only the freshest seasonal ingredients to intensify the flavours, textures and aromas. As Andrew Henning, General Manager at The Westin Dublin, says:
"Sensory Dining is a hugely enjoyable event and we've been delighted by our guests' response to it so far. Tastebuds work overtime, discovering fresh nuances in well-known flavours, leading to a unique dining experience and an evening full of fun, excitement and discovery."
The next Sensory Dining event takes place in the elegant surroundings of the Exchange Restaurant in The Westin on Thursday 18 March with the last falling on Thursday 2 December, a perfect time to arrange a fun alternative for those office Christmas parties. Or, if you're looking for a special gift for a ‘foodie' friend or family member, you can buy a Gift Card which they can spend in any part of hotel, including The Exchange Restaurant for Sensory Dining.
Sensory Dining is €60 per person and includes starter, intermediate course, main course and dessert. Tea and coffee is included as well as a selected beverage per dish.
